Hi mate,
Putting an advertisers banners/text links on your website and generating traffic/sales/leads for them is affiliate marketing.
Adwords is just you trying to promote your website by bidding on key keywords. By creating ads related to your campaign and website. Keep in mind you pay to the search engines and the click you get on your ad is not sure to make you earn money, unless he/she does some transaction on your website. And for that to happen you need to have e-commerce integrated/enabled with secure names like pay pal etc.
I’d like to tell you that it takes a lot of time and sometimes money too before you develop any profitable campaigns. The trick is to keep testing and testing and see what works best.
