Absolutely not. The current recession isn’t one ten-thousandth as bad as the collapse of Rome in the west.
There is practically no chance that we are about to sink into a dark age, unless there is a nuclear war. Our economies continue to become more productive over time, not less — although our unemployment rate is not good. Still — you would compare that to the fall of Rome?
