Yeah, my friend brought his own gun. They took it way too seriously.
Yes. A friend of mine at DLI was denied a clearance and booted from the Navy for being gay. It happened so early in his Navy career that I think his enlistment was nullified, or he received a general under honorable conditions discharge that was later changed to honorable.
A TS clearance makes you eligible for jobs that require TS or secret clearances, but a secret-only clearance is not enough for TS jobs.
Yeah…me lol. I have bad credit and couldnt join the Air Force because of it
I know a lot of people that have been denied a security clearance. Just because you are denied a security clearance is no grounds for you to be discharged. If you have a job that requires a clearance and you lose it, the will just make you change jobs or get out. The difference between the two clearances on the outside will determine what job level you qualify for and your pay.
No. You do not get discharged for being denied a clearance. However, if you are in an MOS that requires a clearance, and you do not get one, then you will be re-classed to another MOS.
And the difference between the clearances in the civilian job market is a few extra zeros in your bank account and the level of information you allowed to access.
Secret is worthless on the job market. Saying you have a Secret is like saying you graduated from the 8th grade.
