So, in most places that I read about the escalating problem of illegal immigrants in our country (I’m aware it’s been like this for quite a long time and it’s not a recent thing), I really don’t know what to believe since a lot of people affiliated with the both the Democrat and Republican parties both seem intent on spreading as much misinformation as possible about how illegals really affect our country. What I want to find out is what are the actual pros and cons of allowing them to continue to stay here. For me personally, it doesn’t make sense to let all the needy coming in from all these different countries sneak in and we get to take care of them when our own people and economy need to be taken care of. Also, it just seems like a slap in the face to the immigrants who persevere and come in legally and when illegals put their personal (sometimes incredibly saddening) situations above our own system and laws, it just diminishes the value of those laws we put in place and makes it seem like big joke that we even have them in the first place.
Despite how it affects me emotionally, I appreciate the truth and facts a lot more so I can think rationally about it. So, what are the real pros and cons of the current presence of illegals in our country? How does it benefit the Democratic and Republican parties? How does it benefit the American people as a whole? As for a solution, I’m not really sure what will eventually happen, but it needs to happen fast. The situation is getting way out of control all the while Congress bickers and points the finger of blame at each other and neglecting to just sit down with each other and form a solution that every one can agree and compromise on. What would be your solution to the immigration problem?

There are NO pros and the “solution” should be a ‘final’ one.
Well, what does a nation obeying the rule of law do with lawbreakers?
You cannot inject emotion into your decision-making. Facts are the facts. Illegal aliens are law-breakers. Do we incarcerate other law breakers to one degree or another? Personally, stopping them at the border and deporting those already here are the just answers.
Give them ID’s, SS numbers, and make them legal… then we would have no illegals in our country. I sure didnt have to do anything to become legal besides take a breath of air when i popped out of my mom. why discriminate based on our parents decisions. if a person wants to be here, then let em come and play by the same rules as everyone else.
the only probelm is that peolpe that are here w/o documentation are all stereotyped as dangerous criminals. they just want the same life as us who are born here.
There is nothing good about someone breaking the law.
The problem is these illegal aliens are for some reason, rewarded for breaking the law. ICE and other branches of the Fed do very little to stop it. There’s the occasional deportations to make it look like something is being done. But the fact remains, it is costing this country billions of dollars to support illegals. They get free or low cost medical care, schooling, $12,000 in yearly rent subsidies, and other entitlements that legal immigrants can never get and citizens will never see.
There are some 30 million people who should not be here, and it is draining this country. Wherever one is politically, surely they can see that this is a problem. Amnesty and the DREAM act are not the answer. This country simply cannot absorb the sudden influx of 30 million new citizens who have not earned their place or the right to be here.
