NEW YORK – A labor group affiliated with the nation’s largest union is giving its highest prize for journalism to a writer from the official newspaper of the Communist Party USA.
President Obama’s labor secretary, Hilda Solis, will be on hand for the awards dinner this week to lead a special session on how to respond to “expected” attacks from the new Republican-led House.

Many big unions no longer hide their affiliations with americas communist and socialist parties. That is their right in this country and with so many blind to the actual consequences of these types of regimes. It’s no longer an issue for most. It’s appropriate if you support freedom. Telling someone which ceremonies they can and can’t attend goes against the freedom that the U.S. is proud of.
