What I don’t understand about niche is when you determine if two certain species are sharing the same niche, does that mean that they are in a niche overlap? Or does it mean that both of the species just eat the same food.

Im assuming that you know what a niche and habitat are because they are two totally different things. Basically, if two species share a niche, they are are eventually goinhto have too much competition because they have the same role. As a result, one species will die out, become extinct. I say no. However, ask your teacher because although I may say this, your teacher might be part of those people who belive it is possible. Its only possible when the two species are the same, regardless I still stand by no. Hahah I hoped this helped! And they do eat the same food because they share a niche, or the sane role in a habitat. Also remember the habitat definition. It plays a vital role!
