I have worked there for over 2 years. I’m scared that they will judge me, so I have held off on telling them. I am almost 5 months pregnant and it’s starting to become obvious that I’m gaining baby and not fat. I just had to call in and say that I couldn’t work tomorrow because I have a fever, my boss seems disappointed because I’ve always usually worked when I’m sick. I know if I call and explain to her that I am pregnant and this is my first time being sick with a fever since I’ve gotten pregnant, but I am scared that they will use that as an excuse to not give me as many hours. I am 18 and single, and my work place is religiously affiliated.
I guess what I’m asking is how I should tell my boss (over the phone) tonight when I call her.

if it is a woman then i dont see why you are worried she will understand
i never actually told my boss. she eventually just asked me and when they did i said yes and they were not mad at all and didnt judge me, If you really have to tell them don’t worry what they think they have no place to judge you. and if they cut your hours either find another job or just stick with it eventually you will enjoy not having so many hours.
I would just come out and tell her. They shouldnt judge you just because you’re 18 and single, it happens and atleast you have had a steady job to take care of your child and that’s all that should matter.
I think Its illegal to cut a women’s hours because she is pregnant. you should just tell her.(I only say i think because i know that you are entitled to maternity leave and you are able to keep your job at the salary it was before you got pregnant)
