Two Palestinian Arabs, Hakim Maazan Niad Awad, an 18-year-old high school student, and Amjad Mahmud Fauzi Awad, 19, both from the West Bank village of Awarta, located 2 kilometers south of the settlement of Itamar were arrested in recent days for the brutal slaying of five members of the Fogel family in their Itamar home last month, the IDF and Shin Bet said on Sunday following the lifting of a media ban on the investigation.
The suspects have confessed to the stabbings and re-enacted the murders, security forces said on Sunday. According to Army Radio, they did not express remorse for their crimes.
Both men are affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PLFP) terror group and received significant assistance from family members and friends after the attack, security forces added.
The suspects planned the stabbings days ahead of time. On the night of March 11, after unsuccessful attempts to obtain firearms from a local PFLP representative in their village, the two set out toward Itamar on foot, armed with knives, a wirecutter and masks to cover their faces.
After walking one kilometer, they cut the wire fence that surrounds Itamar, climbed through a forest and over a hilltop, and reached a row of homes.
The suspects at first entered a home adjacent to the Fogel residence, but found that nobody was home. They stole an M-16 rifle from the home, ammunition and body armor, before walking on.
“They saw children sleeping in the home, and entered the Fogel family residence,” the IDF said.
Immediately after entering the home, the youths set their knives on two young brothers sleeping in their beds, 4-year-old Elad and 11-year-old Yoav.
They then entered the parents’ bedroom, where they launched a knife attack on Ehud and Ruth Fogel. The parents fought back, attempting to fend off the attackers, but died of their stab wounds during the struggle.
The two then left the house. One of the suspects returned and stabbed the three-month-old baby Hadas after she began crying to death in her crib.
According to Israel Radio, Amjad said that he was unaware that there were two other children in the house, and that if he had known, he would have stabbed them as well.
After completing the slaughter, the suspects walked back to the village and told Hakim’s uncle, PFLP member Salah Adin Awad, what they had done.
Salah hid their firearms and instructed them to burn their clothes, which were covered in blood.
The youths then resumed their daily life, while Salah sent the weapons to a friend in Ramallah, Jad Avid, who hid the guns in his home.

What should be the sentence of the “moral” IDF that killed more than 1400 civilians and injured countless of civilians ?? Also destroyed their houses ??
Public execution through hanging. But not once. Let them dance on the rope, then take them out – and hang them again.
This is not the whole story. Their family, friends and relatives from Awarta village knew what they had done. Anyone who was in an Arab village knows that it´s impossible to hide nothing there, even what you have for supper. Now all the residents of the village with the muhtar at the head say they don´t believe the results of the investigation and that the “children” were under pressure.
Evict the freaking village – and destroy it. All of it, to the last house. And to build the memorial to the murdered children and their parents on the place where this bandit den was.
Sentenced for life in an Israeli prison.

First some 25 years in jail and then public hanging. All their relatives and friends who KNEW and ASSISTED them should also go to jail as collaborators of the act.

I should sentence them to death, like Israel did with Eichmann. They are not better than Nazis.
And I seriously think that 99 out of each 100 muslims are like them. Hanging seems to me a good idea.
If I were in your place, and I had them under submission. All I need is a quiet isolated room, and a hammer, and a few hours.
Death- intentional murdering of innocent civilians is a death sentence- there is no excuse for it.
These arabs should get the death penalty.

And, yes, even though I am pro-Israel, there has been a few instances where in the Six Day War Israeli Commanders (not under government command, these were their own commands) killed Egyptian POW’s, which, under rules of war, when soldiers become POW’s they are considered innocent and have surrendered and you cannot kill them. These Israel commanders should be put on trial. Let me repeat, under no case did the Israeli government ISSUE a command to kill innocent POW’s, this was a group of about 3 commanders who were just stupid.
Blame the parents for using their children as human shields!
The settlers are soldiers fighting in a foreign land to expand Israeli territory. They should not be allowed to take their children there. Children are innocent of their parents beliefs and politics!

I say death is too easy for them. They should get a life sentence and given only pork to eat everyday. Eventually they’ll either die of starvation or rot in prison with pork in their stomachs
I’d consider them innocent until proven guilty,give them a fair trial and refrain from making inflammatory statements that might prejudice same.
These boys are “SUSPECTS”, they didn’t confess nor they found evidences to convict them.
Israeli police is trying to find an easy way to solve this case by simply blaming politics & palestinians for it while the psycho murderer is happy now that he got away with it.
A 6 months community service and a 70,000 NIS fine, more or less.
