the big studios just have a bunch of money to use to blitz advertise and do tie-ins with other big businesses for things like toys for kids and/or other collector items having the movies’ name and images all over the place; and big studios tend to pick projects that have broader appeal, meaning that they are also bland enough to not offend anyone.
