Why Does La Make Little Effort To Secure Their Future?

Kobe Bryant’s career is going downhill, and yet the LA Lakers still have him surrounded by diminishing or inconsistent talent.
Pau Gasol- Once an MVP candidate in the first quarter of the season, but went cold the entire playoffs.
Lamar Odom- Inconsistent play throughout the players, never finding his niche or rhythm that he had in the reg. season playing at an all-star level.
Ron Artest- Lost all motivation of winning because he won already in 2010. No team would be willing to pick up his contract. LA would have been better re-signing Trevor Ariza who outplayed him in the New Orleans-Los Angeles series, although losing.
Derek Fisher- He should have retired this season and prepped himself as a future coach in the NBA. Fisher is a very clutch performer, but the LA Lakers need to be looking young, and this draft has plenty of quality Point Guards that can easily replace his role on the team.
Andrew Bynum- Easily played the best out of any Laker except Kobe Bryant. Although I don’t agree with his “dirt” play on Barea, it’s frustrating as a big man when a 5’10” Guard is breaking down your team’s defense.
Overall, I think LA needs to obtain C-Dwight Howard for anyone outside of Kobe Bryant, and C-Andrew Bynum will undoubtedly become dealt, although he doesn’t deserve to.
The main thing for LA right now is to get rid of the pseudo-Dynasty key pieces (Gasol, Odom, Fisher, Artest) and rebuild around Andrew Bynum.

Their future is fine. BUT they will need some young players. Kobe’s getting up there in age but can still score and facilitate if he wants to.
Gasol just had a bad postseason he’ll be back next season
Lamar Odom- he is inconsistent, but when he’s on, he’s a heck of a player
Ron Artest: Never shoots the ball well. Good defender though.
Fisher:Needs to retire lol he’s gonna continue to be an easy matchup for other PG’s
Andrew Bynum- Their future. They must make sure he’s healthy and avoid any injuries with him.
A trade for Howard will be good but they don’t need it. I hear the Lakers are going after Love, Ellis and others. Howard would be a huge plus. Overall however, I think this team can still contend.

LA had their chances and won many times this past decade, to think you are entitled to win is selfish and arrogant like most of the players on the team. This is the laker team that has to get it done, all those players you mentioned are under contract and get paid a good chunk of change don’t know many teams wanting to pick up old inconsistent players who get paid a lot. New teams will begin to dominate now, the lakers look ancient honestly.

Dont worry so much! If you’re a true Laker fan then you know that they’ll never stay bad for long and their history proves it! They’ll go thru the rough spot like all great teams do, and within a few years they’ll be the same old Lakers.

i hate the lakers but they will never suck because the organization will just not allow it, and they are very smart at not allowing it either
