Ok my boyfriend, every so often, goes to the armory. But he won’t tell me why he has to go or what he does there. He says that he has to go or he will get in trouble. He says that he won’t say until he knows for a fact. I was hoping maybe someone affiliated with the armory or army in general could give me a clue about what’s going on? I’m not understanding?
I hate to tell you, but it sounds like he is BS-ing you. If he is active-duty Army, then it may have something to do with his job/MOS, but it really sounds more like he is making an excuse to go and do something else, be it drink with his buddies or whatever. If he is in the Reserves or NG, then he shouldn’t have to do much more than his normal 1 weekend a month gig, unless his unit has been activated. There is also no reason he would “get in trouble” unless it was an assigned duty, and as far as him not saying anything, there is nothing going on in a typical armory that would breach National security by telling you why he needs to be there.
There is no specific reason I can think of that he would be required to go to an armory on base, unless he is an armorer, armorer’s assistant, or perhaps an MP. If I knew a bit more about the situation, such as what unit he is in, what his MOS is, and where he is stationed, I could give you a better idea, but at face value, it sounds like a cover story. I’d be cautiously suspicious.
