I’m getting a degree in marketing at the moment partially because I’m kind of afraid of marketing. The power of advertising on consumer choices is immense, and I’m part of a demographic that’s very hard to reach- young people who are creative and seek new things while experiencing a distinct backlash to over-saturation by advertising messages, product displays, etc.
As someone who tries to be above the messages market force puts out and also studies how they work, I think I’d offer a lot of insight.
