The recently disqualified candidate for presidency Abu Ismail – was he affiliated with with the Hizb al-Nour or with another party or movement?

Yes he was the Nour’s party candidate. Nour party is the Salfiest party in Egypt. Yet it is a fact that he was a member of the MBs and left them to lead the Nour party. Most people don’t know this. This surprise me because I thought EL Nour and MBs are competitors!
Excluding him actually helped the MBs a lot. Morsi will probably lose if this man wasn’t excluded. It seems that the vote for MBs (Morsi) doubles the secular vote. So excluding Hazam actually aided and focused the islamist vote in Egypt.
This is why the islamist won elections outside Egypt with 37% vs 13% for secular Amr Mousa or Sabhi. It is all about focusing the vote.
