To Mr. Jarocki and the yearbook staff, I believe that I, Adriane Hale, would be an exceptional contribution to the yearbook staff for the 2012-2013 yearbook team. Being apart of the yearbook staff has always been an interest of mine, but I was never granted the opportunity to be apart of the class, due to required school classes. Personal qualities that I possess include five things: photography, designing, dedication and hard work, and I know what it takes to be apart of a team, but most importantly I have an open mind and am willing to learn for the benefit of the yearbook.
Foremost, I am -most proudly- knowledgeable in photography. Here at school, I have taken photography, as well as photoshop, and have taken two years of film. In addition, outside of class, I have attended several photography classes and workshops. My experience and passion for photography gives me a step ahead in creating an excellent yearbook full of the excitement of the students making memories. Though photography is a large portion of the yearbook, several other factors remain apart of the tradition.
Since I was a child, I have always had a niche for designing. For instance, I would always created posters on Microsoft Publisher and make scrapbooks, but am still currently obsessed with developing my own magazines. My favourite assignments in school are projects where I am granted the opportunity to let my creative mind flow. I have worked with the YMCA in the past, to design a booklet for summer camps. Furthermore, my obsession with layout/editorial design granted me opportunity to be affiliated with the club presidents of ERHS and increase my interaction with the students in my high school.
The interaction I had with the students, was my first glimpse of the amount of unique people in the world. Since then, I have a love meeting new people, and listening to their stories. I believe that it is important to collaborate with a number of people, such as I would in yearbook, because the variety of outlooks bring fresh, new ideas for a great yearbook. That’s definitely a reason I think I would be good for yearbook staff, because I love collaborating with people to achieve something that’s new and creative.
Throughout my life, I have participated in a wide variety of sports. I have ran in track meets, and been in the freezing pool, racing my suit off, but currently, I am involved in soccer. What all of these sports have in common, and, is my favourite part about being apart of a sport’s team, is that it involves teamwork. If every unique individual were
My reasoning for being involved with diverse activities is because I enjoy meeting different types of people.
Being in yearbook would challenge me to work my hardest, and to collaborate with other individuals to create a great yearbook for our school to enjoy. I am very grateful for this opportunity and I hope I am given a chance on the staff.
It would be extremely helpful if you guys could constructively criticize my 1 page paper and maybe add to it! I have to write one page that I have to hand to the AP english teacher, also the yearbook instructor tomorrow, and be interviewed for a chance to be apart of yearbook next year, my senior year. So please take a look at this paper, and help me get into the class, please: )
