I have been an X-Men fan growing up, I still read the comics here and there but last time I updated I was so disappointed at how many X-Men members died. Nightcrawler was a classic but even the new and exciting characters like Vanisher and Fantom X died. Unless they plan to revive them for future storyline purposes, Marvel comics is failing to market their X-Men franchise. I also heard Cloak and Dagger were X-Men members for a short time. Although they did not fit in with the other X-Men I thought they would fit in more with Wolverine’s new secret X-Force and could do some drug crime fighting on the side along with other X-force members.
Because unfortunately Marvel writers for a while now have been under the impression that killing off main characters is a good way to create tension in a story and make people like the work.
It started a while back, but came to a head in works like Uncanny X-men and even more so in the Ultimates where the Scarlett Witch was killed in Ultimates III and then Ultimatum (which followed Ultimates III) which killed off the Wasp (in a manner that made me give up on Marvel, if you haven’t seen it take my advice, don’t), Charles Xavier, Magneto, and a huge number of other heroes.
Hopefully they’ll figure out that killing off your characters in horrible ways is not something readers want, but somehow I doubt it.
i dont know! thats stupid!!!! i also love the comics (maybe to make the story more interesting)
also in the movie they took rouges powers away! (sucked!!!)
and i guess the characters die in some series but they are also in other comic series….like a different x-men comic
