I got a text from 909-538-6641 saying “Your entry last month has WON! Go to TargetContests.com and enter your winning code 36273 to claim your FREE $1000 Target gift card within 24hrs.” I went to the website and its affiliated with prizecenterdirect.us. Is it a scam?
most likely
Don’t ever trust those things. They are ALWAYS scams.
Definite scam.
Chances are it’s a scam.
Well, did you enter anything?
If not, it could be a scam or something sent to the wrong person. Don’t enter that code online because it could send charges to your phone.
Most likely yes. Avoid it. If you didnt enter a competition you couldn’t possibly have won anything
My suggestion is, if you have any doubts, don’t. This is most likely a scam. If you don’t remember entering anything, i would strongly suggest letting it go. I get these things once and awhile, they always want you to enter a bunch of personal unformation before they “give you your prize.”
Sounds like a scam. People don’t like to give away money, they prefer to scam money from people.
Unless you actually put in an entry at Target, then yes it is. More than likely they’re just trying to lure you in to their site where they’ll say you’ve qualified to get the gift card if you complete several offers they have posted. Of course it’s either impossible to complete them or it will end up costing you even more than the gift card is worth.
Definantly a scam. Watch out for them in the future because once they have your number they might send you more texts. So chances are you will probably get more texts like this.
Hope this helps!

Of coarse it’s NOT a scam, You WON that contest you NEVER entered. Forget common sense, and focus on your greed, and do whatever it takes to get that MONEY!!!!
FREE MONEY!!!!
did you enter a competition there ? if not it is a total scam
did you enter a contest? if you did then thats one step closer to being real, but most of the time these texts are basically like spam. Companies send out thousands to any phone they can get a number for and hope that just a few people follow the link, you will probably find that to claim your prize they ask for a valid credit or debit card that will no doubt have money taken for stupidly overpriced delivery of the prize, and when you get (if you get) the prize its worth about a buck.
Delete the text and chalk it up to junk mail.
That’s an identity theft scam and Target has issued multiple warnings, and it’s been reported on the news all over the countryhttp://www.9news.com/news/article/277182…http://www.tri-cityherald.com/2012/11/21…http://www.dailyfinance.com/2012/05/30/s…http://www.bbb.org/blog/2012/07/delete-t…http://wvgazette.com/News/Business/20120…
