ebay as the Monopoly online trading website, does anybody think they pretty much do whatever they want and careless about their users? Here is what ive been suffered from ebay, first they suspended my ebay account opened since 2006 for no reason, i called no less than 20 times in two months been trying to find out why they did that and when they can activate my account, those phone customer reps first told me they have activated my account check after 48 hrs, so i waited, but it was still suspended, then i called many times, they told me its being investigating just wait, they are not in the positions that they can tell me what is going because its’ secret”, I was like seriously, what? i feel like i rent an apt and they landlord kick me out for no reason and tells me that its a secret, its so ridiculous how they treat their customers, because no big company will blacklist a good customer for no reason and tell them its a secret, so unprofessional, so unprofessional, but I needed to sell stuffs ASAP( i have never sold anything on ebay), so two months later today i tried to register a new account through ebay and after i filled out my info with new email address(the email address linked to my old account cant be used) it pops up” we are having problems right now, please try again later”, and i tried to register in different places it didnt work, so i called ebay, the rep told me because i use google, try to clean the cache and cookies before i register, so i did, and it didnt work, then she said probably you are using google, try to use firefox, cause the website is not down and have no problems, then i told her, seriously? everybody uses google, i dont think its google its ebay, and she told me they will do investigation call back 24 hrs, they will tell me what is the problems, this is definitely same thing playing over again, i believe ebay does many ebay users wrong not just me, a big company like ebay plays their customers like they are nothing, do stuffs for no reasons and wont give their users answers they need, truly Monopoly, why it still existing? if amazon go international i will solely use amazon, open seller account from amazon, because i m trying to sell stuffs international
Tyler, I feel for you. I also complete agree that eBay treats sellers like dirt. I am a large seller on eBay (well at least medium sized). I have been on eBay since 2000 and have thousands of feed-backs, 99.99% positive, not that it matters to eBay. Actually as large seller I have three accounts on eBay to sell different items to different markets. Again none of the matters to eBay. I too have had my account suspended for no reason. I too have spent many wasted hours on the phone with the poor support staff trying to get an answer as to why my account was suspended. Only to get down the path and be told, oh that is the fraud department you have to talk to them. Ok, what is the number. Oh we can’t give that to you, they will have to call you. WHAT?? After a week of waiting for a call finally someone called. They were concerned with my account because I was selling Ralph Lauren Polo shirts. I also sell lots of other brand name items, they cancel all my sales and listings even if they had nothing to do with Ralph Lauren. Do a search on eBay right now and tell me how many hits you get for Ralph Lauren Polo. You will get THOUSANDS. At their request I provided receipts and proof for my purchase of the items. I produced invoices from distributors. Still they were NOT CONVINCED! WHAT?? Again all they will there are hundreds of people selling the same items on eBay. Anyways after arguing and pleading with them I finally got my account reinstated. Sorry I don’t have an answer for you Tyler, but at the end of the day anyone who runs their business through eBay is playing with fire. They can shut you down at any time for any reason.
Also to respond to the person who brought up the eBay profit increase. If you look into it, the only growing part of their business is Paypal. The auction side of the house is flat and not growing.
Sorry you are having these problems. I’ve been buying and selling on eBay since 2001 without a single problem (I’m not a big seller or buyer, but just a few items a year).
I don’t think they said Google was the problem, they probably said Chrome (the browser from Google) might be the issue, which is why they suggested you try Firefox or some other browser. This isn’t really a good suggestion, but just something to keep you busy in the hopes that your issue will work its way out eventually.
There is no restriction on you opening up an auction site to compete with eBay; you should do that since there are people who seem to have so much trouble and you can make sure that does not happen to your customers. We’ll be watching for your solution…
Break the monopolies, buy and sell internationally at http://www.gemm.com .
EBay profits rise 14% in 3Q. That’s why they’re still in business.
I’ve never had a problem with them.
