Is a dual core amd a6 4400m 2.6ghz processor faster than an a8 quad core 4555m 1.7ghz. What about the a6 compared to an a10 quad core 4600m 2.3 ghz. I will be every day compiting, playing games (minecraft and others) and producing music on this laptop.
It is a bit tricky comparing these CPUs. The A6 is a 35W unit and the A8 is a 19W. The A10 is 35W. All have their niches. I was able to find a very long in depth article reviewing the A10 here:http://www.notebookcheck.net/Trinity-in-…
I use a year plus old E-350 dual core that runs at 1.6 GHz @ 18W. It is a very low end machine but I have packed it with 6 GB RAM and it will do what I need it to do. The battery life is generally about 4 to 5 hours depending on what I do. I imagine these higher specced chips will offer better performance so Be Happy, Don’t Worry.
I would recommend trying out a machine in a store and see if you notice much difference. With my experience, I would I would look at the A10 if prices were somewhat similar.

AMD A10 is fastest, then AMD A8 then AMD A6 (based on processor only). If you intend to play games, make sure the graphics card is capable to play games you like.
