Some of their affiliates do. Venturers can be female.
However, you are correct that plain old Boy Scouts is for boys not girls.
I think not. The primary purpose of Boy Scouts is teach boys how to be men. That is done by a variety of means, but it is not done by having girls in close proximity. Girls distract boys, and they also make them less willing to to let down their guard and really learn what they need to learn.
I am female. I applyed for boy scouts. I wanted adventure not homecrafts. That’s retarded! Well, the way it ended up is that my application was not taken seriously, I was unceremoniously tossed of of the brownies, the girl scouts did not want me~so I ran away from home and that’s my outdoor adventure.
Its a private club. They can bar or admit whoever they like.
But they have allowed girls to take shop and boys to take HomeEc ever since the 60s, so I don’t see the problem if one wants to be the outdoor adventure club and the other the artsy craftsy one and they are both co-ed.
No. Boys of that age (8 to 14) have different emotional and psychological needs than girls. It wouldn’t benefit boys or girls to go co-ed in that type of setting.
No. Girls have the girl scouts for that. If there is a viable female alternative then the females should be in that program
Should the Boy Scouts admit girls? ONLY if the Girl Scouts are ready to admit boys.
I don’t like either Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts. Too much political crap in both.
This is why we are a 4-H family.
NO, THEY HAVE THE GIRL SCOUTS
