Do Middle School Aged Girls Need “feeling Lucky” On Their Underwear?

http://theblacksphere.net/2013/03/victor…
What do you think about Victoria’s Secret new line of underwear marketed to middle school girls?
“The new brand called, “Bright Young Things,” includes lace black cheeksters with the word “Wild” emblazoned on it, green and white polka-dot hipsters screen printed with “Feeling Lucky?” and a lace trim thong with the words, “Call me” on the front.”

    Just ick.

    obviously not.
i know there are lots of different kinds of parents out there in the world, but can’t honestly imagine any parent anywhere buying that for their middle-schooler. i can only assume it’s marketed to the girls themselves, when they’re roaming the mall in packs. but even that seems a stretch. can’t imagine most seventh graders would consider purchasing that while their friends look on.

Until my kids are out of the house, making their own money and buying their own underwear, it’s Fruit of loom 6 packs!

Ugh!! What I find even more disgusting is the parents who would actually buy those things for their children. So so wrong!!

There is a disturbing trend among some parents, they think that things like this are “cute” and “stylish”. I wouldn’t want my 11 year old wearing underwear that say “call me” on them…let alone “feeling lucky”. I can’t imagine that my feelings will change much in the next few years on that matter either.
It is much like people buying their daughters, who are toddlers, shorts that tie up the sides or shirts that look like a bustier and thinking they are “cute”. I don’t find it cute for my young girls to be wearing what I deem as “bar clothes”. They are children and putting them into such “adult clothes” in my opinion is asking for trouble.
Some parents just don’t see things that way though, sadly.

    No no and no

    I don’t think they do…
Fortunately, my pre-teen listens to Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, and Led Zeppelin, so I doubt that Victoria’s Secret will be able to catch her attention with Justin Bieber. We buy her undies at Target 😉

No. they’re middle schoolers. If a parent buys her daughter underwear that says feeling lucky, then thats just stupid. It looks like she’s preparing her for sex. Don’t let these girls grow up too fast. There’s no point. Let them enjoy their childhood while they can

If parents didn’t buy it regardless of how many of the say they won’t/don’t. Then their wouldn’t be a market for them and they would have gone away by now, Considering these lines have been exploding for the past 5/10 years. Someone isn’t really being quite honest about what they buy for their children.

Defiantly not. I feel as if it is very inappropriate and they are way to young for that.

No. And four yr olds don’t need sweats that say “sexy” on the butt. I seriously saw that the other day.

  12. Anonymous says:

It doesn’t matter because nobody should be able to see their underwear. What their underwear look like should be nobody’s business.

    No

My 15 year old isn’t allowed to wear words on her underwear or shorts/pants with words on the behind, heck, my other 2 girls (8 and 2) aren’t either for that matter

  15. Anonymous says:

No no no. I was wearing hanes tighty whities in middle school. Mind blowing that you’re supposed to buy “sexy” stuff that early.

I agree with everybody else. Horrible idea. We don’t need to be encouraging these young girls.
