Not to be confused with the “numerology.” Numerology is any study of the purported divine, mystical or other special relationship between a number and some coinciding observed (or perceived) events. It has many systems and traditions and beliefs. Numerology and numerological divination by systems such as isopsephy were popular among early mathematicians, such as Pythagoras, but are no longer considered part of mathematics and are regarded as pseudomathematics or pseudoscience by modern scientists.
Numerology often contains aspects of a variety of ancient cultures and teachers, including Babylonia, Pythagoras and his followers (Greece, 6th century B.C.), astrological philosophy from Hellenistic Alexandria, early Christian mysticism, early Gnostics, the Hebrew system of the Kabbalah, The Hindu Vedas, the Chinese “Circle of the Dead”, Egyptian “Book of the Masters of the Secret House” (Ritual of the Dead)– “Numerology”. In 325 A.D., following the First Council of Nicaea, departures from the beliefs of the state Church were classified as civil violations within the Roman Empire. Numerology had not found favor with the Christian authority of the day and was assigned to the field of unapproved beliefs along with astrology and other forms of divination and “magic”.[citation needed] Despite this religious purging, the spiritual significance assigned to the heretofore “sacred” numbers had not disappeared; several numbers, such as the “Jesus number” have been commented and analyzed by Dorotheus of Gaza and numerology still is used at least in conservative Greek Orthodox circles.–Acrobase 8-31-2012
I had a lot of Greek Orthodox friends when I lived on the tiny island of Crete, they were religious, loving and even offered to give me their only child when our little girl died! But let’s just say “they have a lot of ‘strange’ beliefs the Bible condemns; I love them still and don’t mean to be rude. The are not allowed to question a priest, nor to study on their own (at least those I met living on Crete which were dozens and dozens of close friends, at the time.)
The term numerologist is also used derogatorily for those perceived to place excess faith in numerical patterns (and draw scientifically unsound inferences from them), even if those people do not practice traditional numerology. For example, in his 1997 book Numerology: Or What Pythagoras Wrought, mathematician Underwood Dudley uses the term to discuss practitioners of the Elliott “wave principle” of stock market analysis.
Did you know many think is a “new” thing? And yet it began many thousands of years ago? The 11/11/11 phenomenon is yet another spiritual deception that seduces humanity with the idea of becoming “gods.” Those who believe this have been convinced they are:
1. Genetically capable of 2-way contact with the 1,111 and other Celestials.
2. Prepared to be guided — Obtain information from those who measure their IQ’s in the thousands.
3. Fair in your dealings with others, and useful to the 1,111.
4.’Ascending’ in spiritual growth.
5. And most important, their “Thought Adjuster” (Spirit Self or God Fragment) wishes for them to get involved.
However, the Bible warns strongly against this activity and states that even “..Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14). But for those involved in the 11/11/11 movement, they are not seeking to bring evil to the world, but good. The overwhelming feel that they are promoting world peace, harmony with nature and a goal of bringing love to humanity.
How very thankful we can be that we have received, “not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God”! (1 Cor. 2:12) How very thankful we can be that we have received, “not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God”! (1 Cor. 2:12)
With the help of its influence and by taking full advantage of all of Jehovah’s provisions to keep us on the right path spiritually, we can succeed in resisting the satanic spirit of this wicked world.Gal. 5:16
Nope, it “ain’t” for me…and God bless, Ms.Zebra for a “thinking woman’s question!
1111!!!! That’s a lot of questions.
If knowledge is power than questions are the catalyst to unlimited potential.
You aren’t afraid to ask questions and that makes you important and free of the masses.
Knowledge is power and you are leveling up fast!
It’s significant that you managed to avoid the reporters long enough to last for over 1000 questions.
Which member of the YA team did you bribe, & how much did it cost?
:))
Only if numbers fascinate you.
I often look at my score, or the number of questions I have answered, but often will miss them when the counter turns over
