Why Is That In The Us, Politicians Affiliate Their Politics With Religion?

I don’t know why this often happens over and over again, its just simply stupid. Plus, politics are not so good anyway.
I’m a liberal Christian (and was happy that the LGBT marriage got approved), but I don’t trust either parties, Republicans or Democrats. I would often parody them as their animal symbols; Elephants, dignified but strict, intolerant of nonsense, afraid of mice (metaphorical) and drunk (on power or anything else). Donkeys, humble but stubborn, ridiculous, slow and foolish.
This is why I don’t like to involve my beliefs in politics, politics always corrupt. In fact the word comes from a Greek word meaning ‘to tell tales that aren’t true’

Will Obamacare Ruling Mean Less Abortions?

The Obama administration announced the final rules under the Affordable Care Act on Friday requiring most employer health insurance plans to cover employees’ contraception without a copay.
“The health care law guarantees millions of women access to recommended preventive services at no cost,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a statement. “Today’s announcement reinforces our commitment to respect the concerns of houses of worship and other non-profit religious organizations that object to contraceptive coverage, while helping to ensure that women get the care they need, regardless of where they work.”
The rule, which goes into effect August 1 for religious non-profits after a year-long grace period, completely exempts houses of worship and makes accommodations for many religiously affiliated schools, hospitals and charities. Under the accommodation, religious non-profits can avoid having to pay for contraception directly by having the third-party insurance provider foot the bill for that specific coverage.

Tax Exemption: Constitutional Right Or Government-granted Privilege?

In particular, I am referring to exemptions from paying federal income tax. Ever since the 16th Amendment was added to the Constitution and the first federal income tax was passed in 1913, the federal government has recognized that houses of worship (obviously due to the First Amendment’s freedom of religion clause), charities, social welfare organizations, and certain other so-called non- profit organizations had the right not to pay income tax.
However, in 1954, Congress amended tax laws to strictly regulate political activities by tax-exempt non-profits.
Moreover, except for religious entities, non-profits are generally required to petition the IRS in order to be granted exemption from income tax.
Fast forward to 2013 and the current IRS scandal. The Tea Party-affiliated groups and other political-oriented organizations claim to be harassed and intimidated by the IRS. It’s one thing to exercise your First Amendment rights to free speech and freedom of association by forming groups to oppose the current Obama regime. But, it’s another thing to petition the government for special privileges (i.e. tax-exempt status).

Would You Become A Scientologist To Protect Yourself From This?

To protect yourself from 1. Being involuntarily committed to a mental hospital 2. Being injected with powerful brain damaging chemicals whose original purpose was to replace surgical lobotomies 3.Having to agree to take these shots or pills on a regular basis or be locked up in a mental ward 4. Potential ECT 5.Being institutionalized indefinitely based on people’s subjective opinions about you 6. Living your life with a label such as Schizophrenia without an explanation of what that really is and how they know you have it, with the stigma and restrictions attached with that label (driving restrictions, possible alcohol restrictions, gun ownership probably out of the question, and people can get you committed to the hospital by saying certain things about you and you having no way to defend yourself); you may be forced to take neuroleptics against your will
OR would you rather sign a waiver saying that your religion protects you from all said above psychiatric treatment and know that you can’t have your rights stripped from you based on opinions of psychiatrists? Note: I am not affiliated with Scientology or trying to put them in a bad/good light I am neutral just trying to get some opinions.
