I need to have a student loan for 50,000. I applied to both of the lenders that my university works with and both denied me but said I would be approved with a credit worthy cosigner. I have excellent credit in the 800’s. I’m only 24. i own a quiznos franchise. i have a bachelor’s degree. why can’t i get this loan for nursing school? i tried to get it from a few other banks, however, most only work with schools that they are affiliated with, which means i pretty much have to go with the people my school offers salliemae or wells fargo. the only reason i could think of y i might not be able to get the loan is because i am a guarantor on my 50,000 dollar business loan for my corp.
is there anything i can do? is it anyway possible for me to be able to get a loan on my own? i even tried to get it for less money, and still denied. and i have no one to cosign for me. can anyone out there advise me or give me any info whatsoever???

My (high schooler) son is interested in genetics, and one of the careers we found affiliated with a biology or genetics degree is that of a patent agent. Would he need a degree beyond a Bachelor’s (I know he’d have to pass the patent bar), and is the field saturated or is there still opportunity for growth?

So I got a degree in American Studies because that’s what I liked to do.
I did like it.
But now, I don’t know what to do!!
I was all over USAJOBS.com, but no luck.
Overall, I was hoping to land a job in Government, or working for some secret shadow agency full of good people.
But now, I wonder if it was all a waste. I mean, I know it wasn’t a waste, because I use the skills just in my basic , every day living. I don’t want to say it makes life easier, but I definitely make better decisions, which seem to make life better.
So all in all, if I had nothing, I do have that degree and knowledge packed in my brain.
Other than that, I don’t know what I”m doing anymore, after 2 years of job searching and resume writing and career counselor advising!!!
I talked with other people who have other degrees, and it’s all the same!!!
The people who seem to do well are females who majored in marketing or nursing or something.
My buddy has an accounting degree, and isn’t even using it! He does a job that I think doesn’t even require a degree.
My other buddy has a Masters in Business. And he’s doing what I did during school and still do to make ends meet when I can. Home Improvements! LIke fixing up old or busted houses and making them sell for high.
Thing is, he’s doing the labor part. He works for a company, but I think his friend owns it, so it’s all good I guess.
His friend also has a degree, I’m not sure in what though, probably business. But he’s just older, and has better connections. That’s why he with his bachelor’s, is my friends boss, who has the masters!
Why, because his friend’s dad owns a business or something. And may not even have a degree, just a real estate license.
But I digress….

I’m a 23 y/o college student who got off to a very slow start and I’m now 2 semesters away from my A.S. in Gallery and Museum Studies. For the past 4 years and change, I’ve worked the same p/t job on minimum wage (7.25). When I leave my current school, I’ll be 24. I’ve 2 choices. I can either transfer back to the 4-year college I started at (The program’s articulated w/ the BA program in Art History there) or go elsewhere. Now, very soon I’ll be interning with a non-profit organization that has to do with historic preservation. You see, what attracted me to Gallery and Museum Studies was it’s uniqueness. Not too long after I started on that path, I began to appreciate architecture near home and that led me to the internship. My confusion has to do with whether or not I should get my BA in Art History and then pursue Historic Preservation at a graduate school in New York City (I live in Queens). A Bachelor’s in Historic Preservation would take me away from home and I’m not prepared to pay for living expenses. Does it make sense to stay in Queens until I have my Bachelor’s (2013/14) and go from there? I worry all too often and I’m trying to figure out how everything will mesh (Museum studies, interest in preservation, etc.). Am I worrying for nothing? I’m trying to find my niche in this economic climate. I’d love to hear from people who’ve been or who are currently in a similar situation. Thanks for reading

Hey guys. Today I got an offer to attend UBC Okanagan and do a Bachelor of Management. I applied to UBC Vancouver for a Bachelor of Commerce but I didn’t get it. They then offered me UBC-O. I really want to go to UBC Van and study commerce. My question is: Should I go to UBC-O and do Management for a year, then transfer to UBC Van into Commerce, or should I go to Langara College and do their Arts and Science Transfer Program taking Commerce courses I can use to transfer to UBC Van after a year or two? I really don’t know what to do :S I moved to Vancouver, Canada a year and a half ago from the UK and don’t really want to leave to go to Okanagan now. I would prefer to stay in Vancouver. Anyone have any suggestions? Anything would help, thanks 🙂 I would love to hear the opinion of someone who has done Langara’s transfer program. It seems as though it would be easy to transfer from UBC-O to UBC Van cause it says on their website that UBC-O business school is affiliated with Sauder School Of Business. I’m so confused :S
