This is a list of things that Mayors Against Illegal Guns wants, according to their newsletter:
– Require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America.
– Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines that enable mass killing.
– Make gun trafficking a federal crime, with stiff penalties for those who arm criminals.
In all honesty, I don’t see anything wrong with any of these things. I think background checks are something that should be considered basic, and I see no legitimate reason for anyone to have a high-capacity magazine or fully-automatic firing mechanisms, unless you REALLY can’t aim. Gun trafficking is something that I haven’t seen mentioned much, and it seems logical to go after the real problems. Though what I’m seeing here is people making it out to be the end of gun ownership for civilians. I really want to know the opposite point of view – please use specific arguments for why you think these things are unreasonable, not generalizations. That means telling me why you don’t want background checks, or why you need an assault weapon/fully-automatic weapon/high-capacity magazine. I know that the NRA refers to assault rifles as “modern sporting equipment”, which is why I have adopted a liberal stance on this issue. There’s nothing sporting about 800 rounds per minute. But my opinion doesn’t matter in this case, I want to hear yours.

Approximately six years later, on February 28, 1994, Dr. Baruch Goldstein woke up early in Kiryat Arba, an Israeli settlement on the West Bank near the ancient Jewish town and contemporary Palestinian Arab city of Hebron. Goldstein was an American Jewish immigrant to Israel also affiliated to Meir Kahane’s organization. The previous day he had meticulously updated his patients’ files and composed a farewell note to his coworkers thanking them for the opportunity to work with them toward the fulfillment of the “complete redemption.” He donned his army uniform, picked up his assault rifle and several clips of ammunition, and went to the Tomb of the Patriarchs in the center of Hebron, where Abraham (Ibrahim to Muslims) is believed buried.
With a marksman’s headset protecting his ears Goldstein brushed aside the unarmed Arab guard and entered the portion of the site reserved as a mosque. The room was packed with Muslims reciting their prayers for the holy month of Ramadan. Goldstein pointed his gun and began killing the kneeling men and boys. When his gun jammed he was beaten to death by desperate survivors, but not before he had shot twenty-nine people to death, wounded dozens more, and unleashed a torrent of violence that seriously jeopardized the budding peace process.

Ok before I start I want to first say that I am 21 year old male and I am gay. But my goal is to get involved in politics. I am very interested in it. But I am not sure what party I affiliate with. Being a gay male I feel I should be a liberal democrat. That is most likely the most successful road for me to go down. But on the other hand, I am pretty conservative on some issues. For example, I am very pro gun, pro life, I am strongly for securing the boarder, I am against the progressive tax system I would like to see a fair tax. But all that being said I am strongly for gay rights, I hate the patriot act, I think america needs to get out of every country right now, I am very anti-war. We have the worse foreign policy ever! I am for a universal health care system (I never use to be until I was recently dropped so now I understand peoples struggles.)
So please help me out, and DO NOT tell me to be a independent because this is america and if I want a political career I need to pick a party. I come from a very conservative republican family buy being a gay male I feel like I should be a liberal democrat.

I am 17, and I am into military stuff (i.e. guns, gun accessories, military apparel, military accessories, etc.) I am also into video games….but take note…again I am 17 YEARS OLD…no expendable/disposable income…NOT A LOT OF MONEY. Any cheap business ideas for a 17 Year Old would be appreciated…tanks.
