I do a little bit about it so I’m not totally new to it, but I’m trying to sign up as a publisher to a couple different CPA sites and I don’t know what they’re asking for in one of the fields! Someone please help me out here!
First it asks: “Site Type” — Now I think I should put “other” because I know I’ll be advertising for other companies. The other options in that field are “Newsletter”, “Website”, and “Email.”
Second: “Site Description”…..? I’m not sure what I’m suppose to describe here. Should I describe what type of ads I’m going to be advertising? Or whether I’m going to be doing banner ads or other ones?
Third: “Site Views/Month”….should I just say how many views I want to get in a month? Cause I’m not promoting my own website so how do I know what to put here!?
Please any assistance would be a great help. I want to give this affiliate marketing a try but I’m having trouble just getting in the front door.
Thanks for your time
Q1. Website
Q2. mention is you’re a vertical or portal or aggregator or search service or content destination
Q3. They’re asking for your site’s traffic stats. If you’re a new site – put in conservative numbers which you expect with your current level of promotion/subscriptions/members.
hope this helps.
I had the same problems not to long ago when I joined several networks. I put “website” and in the description I put “use my short url (website) as a redirect to other offers and for tracking” and how much traffic is just an estimate.. I usually select the first in the list. Most of which I’ve noticed is not that important but what is; any url you say you own, they will check to make sure you are telling the truth. If you are planning on getting into cpa I highly recommend listening to Philip, he knows his stuff and a very good teacher. You can find him here: http://conversions.tgc4u.com I purchased his program and it is well worth the price. Not expensive at all.
TIP: Before you buy, click close window and you’ll get a pop-alert for a discount, click the cancel button, don’t buy yet, click close once more, another pop-alert, click cancel again and save $20.

Hmm ..It’s too long for all details here. So, please visit my blog.
First – I would be tempted to opt for ‘website’.
Second – You can go for simplistic e.g. search service, gateway/vertical portal (vortal), information site, aggregator etc.
For the site views per month, you’ll really need to install some tracking software such as Google Analytics to tell you how much traffic (unique visits, page impressions etc) you’re getting. I’m not really sure there’s any other way to estimate what your viewing stats are.
