beau (bO) — bO is French and the French pronunciation has been adopted by English; normally, it would be bEU as in “beautiful”
gourd (gord; short o) not oo
prove – U, not O
sure — SHur
possibly “prey” — other “ey” words are also pronounced A; there are also key (kE) and “y” and “ey” (E) used to turn nouns into adjectives
I have not checked spelling rules, so you should. I could be wrong about some of these.
