i’d take it to your local dealer because any modifications to the car that you do yourself are likely to void your warranty and if you have an accident involving the handbreak or the failure of your handbreak, it will mess up your insurance and end up with you paying quite a bit of cash.
Remove the carpet and panel around the lever. Underneath you will find 2 cables comming in and terminating through a pivoting bar and secured by 2 nuts. pull the lever up 4 clicks, then adjust the cables till they are tight, turning equally on BOTH cables. release the lever and pull it on. If it needs further tightening, pull it up 3 clicks and repeat.
Jack up the back wheels and make sure the brake is releasing fully after your adjustment.
If all ok refit everything and job done.
