I realize this is a bit early for Christmas shopping, but I didn’t have much money to invest in thoughtful gifts for loved ones last year, so I want to do it right this year. My boyfriend is a die-hard Red Sox fan, and he’s mentioned offhandedly that he’d like a documentary and/or box set affiliated with the Red Sox. So, my question is for fellow Red Sox fans. Which is a must-have in your collection, that you think he would be absolutely psyched to receive?
Any info/link is helpful, but I work for Amazon (and get a discount), so that would be even better.
Anything on the 2004 World Series (there are several, from one-disc summaries to all games (in full!) boxes).
Anything on the 2007 World Series (pretty much the same varied selection).
Anything on general Red Sox history (100 Years of Red Sox History; The Essential Games of Fenway Park; Cowboy Up!; Red Sox Memories; Rooters; more).
Fever Pitch (get the “Red Sox fan extended ending edition” — includes some game footage to make for a happier ending).
There’s older material that never got ported from VHS to DVD, including a great one called Fenway Forever: 75 Years Of Fenway Park, easy enough to find on eBay, but require old technology to view.
Something of the 1986 World Series
I’ll be back later to see how many thumbs down I get for this.
