    1. A) Basically, these birds have DIVERGED from the original species. These tends to happen when there is a decrease in predators and competition. These birds were originally competing, but as time passed some of these birds were born with different beak shapes and color. This led to eating slightly different foods. Over time, as competition decreased more, the foods varied more and more so that they no longer competed for the same types of food
    2. B. While these species do no share a lineage, they share a similar environment. Remember that evolution is just a change in one’s genes as a result of a changing environment. If two species from different parts of the world happen to be exposed to similar circumstances over a period of time, they may change in similar ways to deal with that problem.
