I Have A Question About Pay Per Click?

1. You signup with a PPC program such as Google Adwords, create ads, select keywords, choose target networks, add funds, and away you go
2. Yes, you can send people to whatever url you wish, doesn’t have to be your own domain
3. Google Adwords, after that Yahoo/Bing, all others are basically worthless and full of click fraud
I’ve used a ton of pay per click in the past, and I’ve never found it particularily useful. I’ve always found that I could generate a ton of clicks (very expensive) but the ROI was just about nil. I had to go pretty far and beyond the pay per click strategy to turn any amount of success.
The theory behind ppc can be pretty complicated, but in it’s broader strokes you bid on a word and the highest bidder wins, but you never pay more than the runner up as willing to pay. For example, if you are willing to pay $4 and the next highest bidder was willing to pay $3, your cost per click would be $3.
There are a lot of things you can do to lower the cpc, but I don’t have all night and I’ll assume you don’t either. 🙂
