It’s stunning. It’s like he just assumes most people are stupid and aren’t paying attention to what he’s doing….is he right?
Let’s pretend Mitt Romney had won in 2008 and done exactly what Obama has done….
Obama kept Guantanamo open. He kept Bush’s indefinite detention policies. He kept Bush’s state secrets arguments to shield the government from any lawsuits. He kept Bush’s guy (Bernanke) as the head of the Federal Reserve. He signed a health care “reform” bill into law whose centerpiece is an “individual mandate” (which is a Republican “market based” solution from the early 90s that Mitt Romney, a Republican, instituted at the state level in MA a few years ago). He tripled the number of troops in Afghanistan. He has committed about 50,000 troops to Iraq indefinitely (he claims they’re non-combat troops and that the war is over). He signed a bill to keep the tax rates on the “rich” the same as they were during the Bush years.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20110404/ap_o…
WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama formally launched his re-election campaign Monday, urging grass-roots supporters central to his first White House run to mobilize again to protect the change he’s brought over the past two years.
The official start of his second White House bid, in the midst of three wars, a budget fight with Congress, and sluggish economic recovery, comes 20 months before the November 2012 election.
The only change we will see is his demise.
America will finally be united once we destroy liberalism and their treasonous ways.
yes, I’m getting a chill up my leg just thinking about it.
It may work. He has a complicit mainstream media as his propaganda machine
He’ll be tough to beat, but I think Romney has the best shot; of any current contenders
The Romney healthcare bill was not a success here in MA. It’s very expensive, actually.
I don’t think Romney should be defending it, but it is indeed a state solution, which is constitutionally ok. But it still sucks.
Obamacare is blatantly unconstitutional
Yes, he is going to change jobs from President to street sweeper.
Yes. He “changed” the economy which was on the brink of collapse when he took over and it’s now clearly on the road back to full recovery.
I think his new thing is “It begins with us.”
I guess that’s better than the X-Files tagline/Charlie Sheen weirdness “Win the Future.”
Whoever you elect is already bought, or will be bought, or will be killed.
Give up already. You lost. And you lost forever.
No. But he can and will still use the race card.
Yes, yes he is.
He still has support, look at the number of campaign promises he broke and the lack of change he accomplished. Clearly, what he says does not matter so long as it is consistent with what he said in the past. He can do as he pleases, his supporters do not pay attention and do not care.
This might cost him his election: incumbents should not run on a “change” message, for obvious reasons. It’s almost like writing your own pink slip as you show yourself the door.
Change won’t work the second time around since “change” didn’t really change America at all.
Unemployment continued, the economy continued to tank, and the deficit continued to soar.
No change there.
I think he should eliminate the penny and nickle from circulation. The last 4 will show that we need less change, not more.
IF he wins again, I feel that I might give up on us as a nation. It would be a sad, sad day. Your comparison is very good, by the way.
No. Running on “Change!” will not work for an incumbent, obviously! Also, he will be vulnerable to criticism of the “not-enough-change” variety to the extent that the economy doesn’t pick up and the wars are going badly. But he will probably be able to point to lots of positive change since he took office, and probably run on an old-school conservative ticket.
Not sure how Romney fits into this Q. If he was president, his relection chances would be similary good.
@outside the box…
The X files was ” Fight the Future ” and it sounds like some pretty good advice to me.
Dick Morris had a great campaign slogan for Mr. Trump………… A pic of Barack Obama with “You’re Fired” written across it. Trump probably will not get the nomination, but that would be a great slogan.
I am hoping for change in the white house.
I’m guessing he will have “I’d like to be President for 4 more years” as his slogan.
lol, i dont have time to read all that right now but as for keeping Bush’s tax rates, he had to “compromise” with the republicans. In order to get health benefits for dying 911 heros, the republicans demanded tax cuts for wealthy americans
He did try to close gitmo. Congress controls the purse strings and denied him the funds to do so. Just wanted to clear that up.
Edit: thumbsdown? This is a verifiable fact
Edit: do you not remember his plan to try them in New York city and the outcry against it? How is that not trying?
Edit: You obviously don’t understand how our government works. There is a separation of powers. The Congress controls the purse strings. They denied him funding. Nothing he could do. Try reading a 7th grade civics book to learn more
