I’m wondering if religions require indoctrination and complete trust on an unquestionable “god” and a book, how do those religiously-affiliated schools teach children that crucial critical thinking skill? Don’t intelligent parents find it pointless to let their kids brainwashed, even for a good cause?
I go to a catholic school and I wouldn’t say we are brainwashed. I have been to a normal school before and to me they are exactly the same. You just have a religion class instead of an extra elective. They just tell you about God but they don’t actually force you to believe that God exists. We have our own choices. We are taught science as well so it is just about what you chose. Religion class is more about history and the prophets.
Your question is based on a flawed premise. It overlooks the fact that critical thinking and faith are not mutually exclusive. Failing to understand that is truly a product of public education brain washing.
