Some of mine:
1. This may or may not be considered blasphemy, but I think ‘One Love’ is the best song on Illmatic
2. Eminem is overhated and can be a potential top 10 candidate despite his inconsistency
3. Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) can sometimes be overrated when it’s mentioned among Hip Hop heads almost as often as Eminem is among common listeners
BQ: What is your favorite song by a Death Row Records affiliate?
blasphemy is nothing to joke about…. just sayin man, and its your opinion on what song you like best
2. i agree way overhated thanks to too many teenage girls
3. almost everyone here is either overrated or overhated in some way shape or form
Eminem isn’t top 50
Tupac is an above average lyricist at best with deep messages
i listen to Drake
hipsters = mad.
Big Boi > Andre 3000
I know Andre is a top 10 rapper for a lot of y’all, and no one even mentions Big Boi in the same breath.
1. Paid In Full sucks.
2. 99% of ’80s albums suck.
3. KRS-One is “Gawwwbage!”
Tupac was straight trash. Average lyricist at best. People overrate the messages in his songs. Half of them sound ignorant as hell and, honestly, most good music has some type of message. Why would I give him credit for having a decent message conveyed in a simple way through simple lyricism?
1. It’s an underrated song in my opinion.
If Tupac came out of hiding, he would be working as Lil Wayne’s sex slave
jim jones>>>>Rakim
@Senior Finaly some one who prefers Big Boi over Andre!Dont get me wrong I love Andre and i agree hes in Top 20 atleast
1:I think alot of 8os rap is boring but theres still some i love to
2:Lil Wayne Is Horrible but he is a guilty Pleasure When i just want to Have fun.XD(Sounded Gay)
3:Illmatic =Straight Outta Compton
4:Scarface>Rakim(My 4th Favorite though)
@Proto How would Pac Be a Snoop Dogg he already Had 2 Classics and 4 Really good/Above average albums while snoop Had 1 Classic and a couple of medicore albums and a few of okay/Good albums
I dont think AZ on lifes a b*tch is all that special.
Bq- dr dre n**ga with a gun
It’s already been mentioned..Big Boi is just as good, if not better than Andre 3K..I love 3 stacks, but Big Boi is overlooked wayy too much.
Lil Wayne isn’t as bad as people make him out to be..I’m not a big fan, but I don’t think he’s THAT bad.
Drake is actually a pretty good rapper.
Mainstream Hip hop > Underground.
I’ve never liked Eminem – Not saying he’s garbage, and ofcourse i’ve liked some of his tracks but overrall – never been a proper fan of his.
1. Drake is borderline dope. Thank Me Later was average, Comeback Season was dope, and Room For Improvement was rough, but good.
2. Talib Kweli >> GZA. I got like 8 thumbs downs for that once.
3. Tupac is overhated/whined about in this section.
Live & Let Die has horrible subject matter and is just a distasteful album by G. Rap
#WordIsBond
Lil Wayne is in my top 10 favourite rappers
I enjoy mainstream rap more then underground.
hipsters = mad [2]
Guru is boring AF
never cared for 80’s rap
1. Kanye West has no classic albums
2. Deltron 3030 doesn’t deserve all the praise it gets
3. Big Pun is worthy of being a top five rapper of all time
– most 80’s & 90’s rap is straight garbage.
– half the albums hip hop dorks claim are classics are boring as ****.
– half the hip hop “legends” are wack too. most of them make an album and have like three decent songs out of like 18 tracks.
– most underground rappers suck.
– while tupac and biggie were both good rappers, they were only slightly above average and neither of them are near G.O.A.T. status. their status is only elevated because they died at the right moment. given a few more years on earth, they probably would have fallen off like everyone else. Tupac would have been another Snoop Dogg and Biggie would have gone the Jay-Z route.
“Most of Nas’s discography is average.”
“2Pac had only two great albums: Me Against the World and 2Pacolypse Now. the rest are average at best.”
“Liquid Swords is overrated.”
“KRS-One’s songs are preachy and he’s overrated as an MC.”
“The Chronic is one of the top 10 greatest hip hop albums of all-time”
1. Blu & Exile’s Below the Heavens is “pop rap”. Hear those pop hooks? Yeah there’s enough to consider pop rap at least a secondary genre.
2. Devin The Dude is the most entertaining rapper, and is the best guy ever for hooks.
3. Wu-Tang Forever doesn’t have enough good tracks to make one full-length LP. The best production is handled by producers not named RZA on the album.
4. Dr. Octagonecologyst sucks.
5. OutKast’s discography is overrated.
1. Twiztid is actually pretty good once you get past the fact that they’re signed with Insane Clown *******.
2. EDIT: Nevermind, I just heard “Goku”, I take that back. Replacement:
Everyone seems to be able to kill the “Hard in the Paint” beat except for Waka Flocka.
3. Eazy-E’s verses go good with almost any beat… Except his own. Examples: Real Thugs, How We Do Remix, Monsters, etc.
4. Tech N9ne is way overrated, and everything after “Everready (The Religion)” wasn’t that great.
5. Earl Sweatshirt is a much better rapper than Tyler the Creator.
