How Do I Remove Window Coverings That Don’t Show Any Exposed Hardware.?

I have wood slat horizontal window blinds in my living room, and would like to remove them to paint, but I can’t figure out how to do that. The box at the top (where the blinds hang from) fits inside the window niche. I don’t see any screws or anything like that to remove the entire set of blinds. Please help. Thanks.

Grasp the valence piece of the box with both hands and tug slightly to see if it will separate and/or pop off. If so that should get you started.

Venetian blinds are usually mounted with a little metal box at each end. The side of the box facing into the room has a hinge at the top and the bottom of that side can be pulled outwards. Not always easily, because it snaps shut very securely, and sometimes you will want/need to push upwards on the bottom front edge of the box to help release the snap-in part. If all that is gobbledygook to you, stop in at a place where they sell blinds and have a look at the brackets.
Once the front side of the box has been released and flipped out of the way, the blind simply gets pulled forward to come out of the bracket. Sometimes all you need is one end of the blind released from the bracket. Then you can see the screws that hold the box to the window frame.
