I get that this is probably not the best forum for this question, but nonetheless here it is…
Why are Jews so hated by both niche groups and by larger groups? I have a Master’s in Physics, and I am fairly versed in my history about Hitler jumping on the bandwagon and using popular hatred of the Jews to commit atrocities against them in the 40’s, but I don’t remember the reasons, only the fact that the hate was there. Today, while my 8 year old son and I were watching the History channel in the background and building Legos, he heard the narrator talking about how Hitler leveraged the “general census of poplar opinion of the Jews to launch a political offensive against them” and he asked me why do people hate the Jews. I thought about why people hate them, and I couldn’t think of the foundation that drives the hatred. I am not a religious person, and don’t raise my kids in that fashion, so his question didn’t come from a place of difference of religion, and I respectfully ask that anyone who answers doesn’t cite only religious differences for hating them.

Jews are the chosen people. I am for them…if i am against them , then i am against Israel
Easy group to blame. Moderately small religion and people needed some scapegoat.

Any group that stands apart in society is in danger of facing this kind of hatred. Gypsies were also targets. There is the story of the Tutsis in Africa, the Armenians in Turkey, the Kurds in Iraq and other places, etc… If you live in a multicultural society, this kind of stuff is hard to understand. After all, everybody is different and everybody has a story. These kinds of things usually go hand in hand with ultra-nationalism in bad times: The targeted group serves as a scapegoat and become the focus of hostility because they get blamed for all the ills of society. It could also be homosexuals: They’ve served the role of scapegoat countless times as well.
The idea is blaming a group like this is an easy answer. And fascist regimes aren’t looking for complex answers: They’re looking for somebody to blame, a kind of catalyst for negative energies. So I don’t think asking why the Jews, or any other group in particular, is being targeted is really the right question to ask at all. It’s about the dynamics of fascism. Who they decide to target is rather incidental and usually a matter of political convenience.
Because you don’t share your jew gold with anyone!
But seriously though, I’ve seen some fundie christians here say that they hate jews because they crucified their jebus. I can’t think of any non-religious reasons why some people don’t like jews.
Jewish persecution goes back as far as the 13th century, maybe even further. Some say it was because they “killed Christ”, even though Jesus was also a Jew, but I think it’s just ignorance, and the need for a scapegoat. In Poland, they continued to arrest and kill Jews even after the Germans retreated.
Personally, almost all of the Jewish people I know are pretty decent, and if I were ever forced to choose an Abrahamic religion, I would easily pick Judaism. They seem to be the only ones who actually practice what they preach.
Some think, as probably Hitler did, that the Jews were responsible for Jesus’ death. Hitler was a Catholic, and he loved Jesus, believe it or not. He later on probably dropped his religion, but I would venture to say, that as wicked as he was, that he still believed in Jesus.
Secondly…Hitler had as Jewish male friend, when he was young and going to college, I believe. I am a bit rusty here, but I think that was when. Anyway, after being friends for a long time, they had a falling out and broke up… Some people believe Hitler was gay, and the Jewish man was his lover. And so, when they broke up, Hitler was devastated.
No one really knows for sure if Hitler was gay, or not…he covered it up pretty good…even to the point of having a girlfriend, Ava Braun..(I think that was her name). But some say, that this was also part of his cover up.
So anyway, there are two reasons why Hitler got to hate the Jewish people. I had to cite Hitler being Catholic in order to show how his hatred towards Jews could fester, by his thinking that the Jews were somehow responsible for the death of Jesus. To him, they were evil.
Dunno. Its like one of those old feuds that’s been going on so long that nobody remembers what it was about, but continue participating in because that’s what they’ve always done, although in this case its not really a feud since its kinda one-sided in most cases.
I have nothing against Jewish people, the only reason someone would hate a Jewish person for no other reason than the fact that they are Jewish would be a religious reason.
It is not Jews but one worlder’s Zionists who are hated for their desire to rule the world and plunging nations and world into one crisis after other. Even Jews hate Zionists. Recent protests in Israel are proof of that. Truth is not racist.
