I love the cubs, and i love baseball. im 16 and would like to know what i need to do to make myself qualified to be employed as some type of position in a minor league or major league front office. For instance what experience would i need? im very very knowledgeable about how baseball works and it’s my life, i could imagine a better job in the future.
For most positions in the baseball industry you do need a college degree in either business management or sports management.
You would need a bachelors in business admin at the very least, and possibly an MBA. If your at an Ivy league school with a 3.5+ GPA, you’re probably set. If you went to a state school with a similar GPA, you’ll probably have to work somewhere else for a few years to “prove yourself”, but depending on what position your looking for, it’s not impossible. And most importantly, it never hurts to know someone already working in the business… which is how most people get on.
