The beauty of the adaptability and staggering diversity of life to utilize every niche of the environment and overcome adversity over millions of years? I mean, let’s give hard-working life a little credit here! It was just created and stagnant? How useless. The world is dynamic and the critters work hard to survive.
I agree. As Douglas Adams said, “Isn’t it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”
But even more than that, it’s even MORE amazing that we are here at all when you don’t attribute everything to a creator.
Work hard? So they knew what was needed to survive before death? It was all luck… Assuming you believe in macroevolution.
YOU
“Religion” and “Creationism” are not synonyms. There are plenty of people who are religious but aren’t creationists, and as such, don’t find that their non-creationist religious views get in the way of appreciating the awe of evolution.
God created it and made it for our enjoyment not for us to abuse in the name of diversity. God is a God of order, not of helter skelter what ever goes, goes. If we live under His way we benefit much it we go our own way we end up with nothing. He gives us guidelines in His word, it is not a life of restriction but a life of fulfillment and enjoyment with the promise of eternal life.
I’ll gladly settle for the miracle of the creation of self-evolving DNA. Plant one drop of it in primordial ooze, stand back and watch what happens! And what has happened! I just hope we don’t ruin the experiment. Maybe we can’t, maybe that’s all part of the experiment. I wonder why cockroaches have never had to evolve?
Wow! H how perceptive—but let us go back a step—-“The beauty of the adaptability and staggering diversity of LIFE to utilize every niche of the environment and overcome adversity over millions of years.” Two things: Where did life come from? and two, I am a Christian, a Creationist and I agree the beauty of the adaptability and staggering diversity of Life—-Wow! But I believe God gave life and he gave live the ability to claim every niche of the environment and overcome adversity and if it took the two billion years as science claims what a marvelous God’s life did. I believe in God that takes care of the so called religion you object to and I believe God created life and our universe, our earth and life. Even then—-90 % of all species that have ever been on this earth are now extinct.
So how can my being a Christian and a creationist take away–does it instead explain why we do have such beauty even with the struggles and God thought of every little niche to put life into–I think only an intelligent being could have made it happen—not by chance.
At least you admit that TRUTH is not a consideration for you. I knew that but I wanted it in writing and there it is. Thanks.
Mercuri, are you brain-damaged ? He says ‘having to believe’ !!! That doesn’t settle anything. I believe many things without ‘having to believe’. And it is pellucidly obvious that you MUST believe as you do.
