I’m about to open up a retail store myself. I am going through this debate myself, and considering hiring a marketing firm to do some research for me.
I have the choice of either prime real estate with high traffic, or picking a decent location that is about half the expense, with a shorter lease. What guarantee do I have that the shoppers will enter my store at all? I may be better off just going to the cheaper location and implementing a marketing campaign to wheel them in.
It’s a very difficult answer to come to. I’m still not sure which one is the right one.
