   Only the lucky few actually end up making significant money, typically getting good search ranking for that niche topic is key, you just can’t over stuff in the keyword in the site to get ranking like 5 or 1 years ago, you need to make regular additions of quality original content written for your readers, it certainly helps to pick a topic you have a passion for do you will be more motivated to keep at it for months.
   An exact keyword match domain name still helps a bit, though they may no longer be a magic bullet, incorporation the subject in the domain name still probably helps ranking a bit.
   More money will be had by writing about a subject people spend money on, there are joke sites that get big traffic, but they don’t attract people interested in what the advertisers are promoting.
