Should I Take This “once-in-a-lifetime” Chance?

okay i’m 22 and became Christian 2 years ago.. since then it has been very hard finding my “niche” in life, as well as a loyal group of likeminded radical believers..
anyways, this past summer i went on a 2 week discipleship school.. it had about 300 people and i was hoping it would lead me to friendship.
i ended up not making ANY real friends because almost everyone came with a group of friends, and i came alone.
anyways over the last few days at this school, a few people came up to me and told me that “God wanted me to tell you don’t worry about it.” this guy didn’t know what that meant, but said it was “between you and God”..
that was awesome because i worry alot about my direction, faith, etc….
and a day later this girl, whom i admired throughout the week for her adventurous, carefree spirit (something i try to emulate), actually came up to me and told me that throughout the week, God had been telling her to tell me, “God wants you to recognize Him”…
this adventurous girl told me that, and later that night the group i was with announced this “wilder tour”.. where its basically a road trip around the united states, saving souls and preaching to people.
that is what i’ve always dreamed of, so i take those two things as signs from God.
anyways, when i got home from this 2 week school, this girl responded to an old-ish email of mine who ran a ministry on Warped Tour (2 month long music festival in the USA).
i met them on warped tour before the 2 week school i went on.
i figured they’d have tons of people asking if they could join and hit the road with them and travel the USA… the weird thing is NOBODY asked. so she said i could join if i want.
should i take this chance? and do you think God wants me to do this?

What’s the point of living if you can’t feel alive?

  2. Emily says:

YES! Take it and don’t let your doubts hold you back!

  3. Scarlett says:

Yes!!!(: its better to look back in life and say “why did I do that?” Instead of “I wish I had done that”

  4. Tyler says:

Who are we to say God whether God wants you to do this? Do what you feel you should do.

Tell those messengers of God that you want a voice recording. Why didn’t God just tell you himself?
It’s not like you pray to a tree and hopefully it makes it’s way to God, you speak directly to him.
Geez, beating around the bush aye

Personally I’m a big believer in signs, especially if I wasn’t looking for them and they just kind of “happened” (aka God got my attention). Like once I thought God was nudging me to start an outreach ministry at my school. I really didn’t want to so I asked him for “proof” that it was actually him…a few weeks later at youth group we had a special speaker who preached a really convicting message about how we don’t care enough about the lost people all around us. By the end of the message I was a sobbing mess (not that emotions are everything) and I knew it was time to cut the excuses and just do it.
Sometimes God reveals his specific will, and sometimes he lets us choose. Two things I’ve heard a lot about God’s will are: 1) Make it top priority to obey what you already know is his will–his commands in the Bible–and keep pursuing a relationship with him. 2) Look for the peace. God promises to give us wisdom (James 1:5). If you’re walking in the Spirit, you’ll be at peace with what God is asking you to do, even if you’re afraid of it. God promises to work all things together for our good (Romans 8:28) so you don’t have to fear making the “wrong” decision.

NOBODY asked because they all came to their senses and realized it was all a bunch of crap. This sounds like a cult. Let me guess, it’s going to cost you a pretty penny to go on this tour? Get some therapy before you screw up your life with this nonsense.

Take the damn tour and get to preachin and prayin.
