I Love the USA but i do feel it has lost its way.
Basically the Wrong priorities. College is way too expensive,
it is very TOUGH to get a decently playing Job. Dollars are
Wasted on importing fuel from the Gulf Dictatorships.
Too many Cars. Not enough trains. No Freedom.
Taxes too High, Money wasted on corrupt government.
Now Al Qaeda affiliates getting Armed by the CIA in Syria.
Is it just me or do many feel something has gone seriously Wrong?
I agree.
mostly agree
It’s not just you, I feel the same way.
Answering your questions as they were put:
Community colleges are still very affordable. Get a Pell Grant.
Get a tecnical education in a field that needs people. Check medical technology.
We buy far less fuel from Saudia Arabia than you think.
Lots of people, lots of cars. Would you restrict who could own a car?
Not enough trains? I agree with you.
No Freedom. Get a grip. I am free to associate with my friends and express my opinions.
Taxes pay for the services we demand.
Corrupt government. Hah. You’ve never been out of the USA.
CIA… they do strange things.
Be thankful for the good things in this country. You have more freedom here than most other countries in the world.
Yes i love it and yes its lost its way. But finding it again. Dont worry.
me luv the uk god save the queen
ÝéŠ, I Ðø, you something’s wrong when:
– innocent people are being arrested for crimes they didn’t commit.
– when politicians get Åway with tax-evasion while Hard working americans pay more & more,
– when we fund the jail-system, 60% of which houses non-violent drug-users & prostitutes,
– When we’ve got milionaires & billionaires shiping jobs over-seas & demanding they get a tax-break for being “Job-creators”.
I like where you mind is at but if I may do some input on your items,
1) College is way too expensive, it is very TOUGH to get a decently playing Job.
College is expensive because the people who do pay for it are paying for those who can’t afford it. Currently there is a college bubble, too many people in college when they don’t need to be, as a result it is becoming the new high school diploma (you don’t need a college degree to learn languages, to operate a business or for the arts). Also people are picking majors that are dead ends because they do not match market demands.
2) Dollars are wasted on importing fuel from the Gulf Dictatorships.
It can’t be wasted if it is cheaper, plus their oil is not infinite and market forces will eventually make oil more expensive without having to intervene due to laws of scarcity, plus the middle east is more or less peaceful due to the world oil consumption.
3) Too many Cars. Not enough trains.
The US is spacious enough to where a car heavy model is justified. And I believe your issue with this would be culled pending on the energy source.
No arguments on the last two items you have listed. My main thought on us losing our way is our shift in focus from the nation state to the international community (like being world citizens), that alone has a huge change in priorities and policies with such a foundation.
Lost its way, but you have many of the reasons wrong like no freedom [huh? sounds like Ron, the con-man, Paul spew] like taxes are too high.
The 1% and their ilk are STILL taxed at drastically too low rates.
Al Qaeda “affiliates”? There’s a coalition fighting the good fight vs Assad. Some maybe be affiliates, cant be helped, the goal’s well worth it.
And your probable hero, Ronald [dont call him retard] Reagan, shipped the AQ-loving Taliban-like fighters in Afgan TONS of weapons to fight the USSR.
The US shipped the USSR THOUSANDS of tons of weapons, vehicles, materiel, and steel to fight Hitler.
Yes, something went seriously wrong: We the People and our Ignorance & Apathy.
Loving something means you want it to reach it’s full potential.
How many UN member States does the US have a military presence in? 10%? 20%?
-Nearly all of them
That smacks of insecurity and paranoia to me… A bit like a child removed from a mother prematurely.
You don’t see Canada behaving like a naughty child do you?
Good luck with the “Alan Wilder” thing- Next your State Dept will be Droning Depeche Mode.
The US stands no chance of surviving. So neither do the rest of us, but it is about time y’all realised it.
i never been to USA but i love it so much cos of films. USA is always the biggest, the powerful, the richest, the better, it has it all. skiing in the north, beach and sea in the south, cold tall building in NY, famous hollywood, Washington, long list goes on. yes im starting to hearing about how usa helps wrong people in the middle east, it never sounds good. its silly really. but for me, USA remains the best country in the world and may that goes on forever. peace from the UK
