Is There Still A Niche For A Nightclub To Remain Viable By Playing A Mix Of Strictly Old School Disco & Rock?

I must admit I miss the old days of going out and dancing to non stop classic rock from the 60′ 70′ 80′ and 90’s. But with so much emphasis now on playing the latest dance music I feel that classic rock is sadly now considered out dated? and dying a slow and painful death. Most nighclub owners are chasing the almighty dollar and will sack the old school DJ in favour of a modern DJ just to get the younger ones in. I used to go to this old school night club which referred to itself as the HOME OF CLASSIC ROCK, but since the older DJ was fired a few years back the last 2 DJ’s hardly play any old stuff at all.The owner sold out, and over time lost his regular old school patrons in favour of a more younger crowd. And what really sux is that the famous sign HOME OF CLASSIC ROCK still hangs in the background. My questions is there still a niche for a nightclub to remain viable by playing a mix of old school Disco, Rock,,only etc?

Yes, there is, but try getting a club owner to realize that.
As an “old school” DJ who USED to do the bar scene – hell those gigs are GONE!
Any punk kid with a laptop and a PA system is now a DJ, and I’ll guarantee you, he plays what HE wants.
Owners don’t seem to note their regulars leaving in favor of a place with a jukebox, nor note the kids taking over their joint making more trouble and less profit for the club.
    Pardon the rant!
