“Intelligent, yet not politically affiliated person…”
You would find approximately…zero people. Awko taco
Some republicans thought they found one in the Donald. They were very wrong.
They can run if they want. But a ban on professional politicians from running? yea good luck getting that past the courts.
Yes.
The positions of Congress and the President were never intended to be full time positions.
On your other point, I agree. Anyone that says they are republican, democrat, liberal, or conservative needs to be flat out banned from politics. Possibly flat out deported.
We have no need of people that are so stupid, so ignorant, that they simply follow along with a “team” instead of actually thinking about things.
Big corporate money should be banned (or greatly curbed) from politics.
Absolutely, Janitors will clean up the mess.
I think it is partisanship rather than careerism that hobbles the political process. In wartime Britain, political enemies banded together in Cabinet and achieved things – such as turning depressed peacetime industries into war machines overnight – that today are hard to believe. I understand that similar cooperation existed in the U.S. at the time.
First many politicians are honourable people who serve the nation faithfully, whether we agree with them or not. It takes them years to build up the skill set that makes it possible for them to actually make things happen.
How would an amateur without those skills even begin to do the job?
