you need to BOOT the hidden partition to factory reset the pc.
this will erase all your files.
if you are BOOTing the partition and it still asks for a password, then it will
be because EITHER a Hard Drive Encryption password has been set in the BIOS
or a Hard Drive Access password has been set in the bios.
    enter the bios and see.
if you are NOT booting the hidden partition and are trying to access it some other way
or its a microsoft windows 7 created partition and NOT a factory reset partition
then WINDOWS would have asked YOU to give IT the password and its YOUR
    problem.
a proper factory reset partition is usually accessed at boot logo time before windows is
started, by pressing a key sequence eg ALT+F11. This varies per make of pc.

Let’s say your Dell laptop came without recovery discs but you have to reinstall Windows because the operating system got corrupted or infected with viruses or spyware. What can you do?
There is a chance that your laptop has a hidden recovery partition and you can re-image the hard drive using files on the hidden partition. This guide may not work for all Dell laptops with Vista.
