Now I know that the question is broad, but it’s just to get the attention of anyone that can help. More specifically, here’s our situation.
As most any small business owner will say, we’ve found a niche that no one has found and there’s an enormous potential for. I know everyone says it, but I really mean it. We’ve got potential. In this excitement, we made ourselves an LLC because it’s only $40. We wanted to secure our name and make sure we’re motivated. We’re registered with the state of Kentucky and have appointed ourselves the Registered Agent and Organizer roles. The question is:
Where do we go from here?
We know what we’re providing, how we’re doing it, when, and every other variable. What we don’t know, and can’t seem to find in a centralized place of business intelligence, is what we do, legally. For example, all we did was establish the LLC. From here, do we have to make ourselves employees? And if so, how do we do that? If we don’t how do we go about telling the state (or country/IRS) that both of us own the company and share the revenue? If we need to hire someone, what does that entail?
Now, being a web developer and general tech enthusiast I’m firm in the belief of “Google it, stop asking stupid questions” but to be completely honest I have and everyone just kinda says “fill out this form by the name of A234-20”, or whatever form there is. It’s all really confusing and we’re really determined to change a lot with our business. We definitely will grant credit to the person who can answer this thoroughly.
Thanks a lot for your time,
David
