I’ve been filling out my NROTC application and I have found that out of all the colleges I want to apply to I can only apply to one college that are cross town affiliates of my first choice host unit USD, and I must pick another host unit. However the other host units seem to be out of my reach when it comes to getting in, I want to stay close to home, what should I do?

I applied for a data entry job and then got this reply a few days later.
Dear Leilani,
Thank you for your application to M&A Services and interest for the role of a Home Based Data Entry Clerk. After reviewing your CV, you seem like an excellent candidate for the role. I would like to provide you with some more information so you are aware of the position before we take the process any further.
A Home Based Data Entry Clerk requires:
· A reliable computer
· Internet access
· A valid email account
· Typing speed 30wpm
· Access to either/or MS Word, MS Excel, Works, Notepad
Internet knowledge and previous Data Entry experience is useful but not necessary. Your main duties will be determining which emails/applications can be successfully processed. A step-by-step training manual will be provided which gives guidance and information on how to begin. This includes example emails, samples and a list of company Databases you will be working on. I will be here to assist you at any time should you require help with the role. The training manual can be completed in your own time and most applicants complete it within a day. As soon as you have completed the manual you can begin.
The hours of work are fully flexible giving you the choice to work part-time/full-time, days/evenings/weekends. However, the workload is constant so the more you work, the more you can earn. You will be paid £10.00 – £15.00 for each completed application with the average person completing 10 per day. For any queries relating to pay please do not hesitate ask.
To obtain the training manual there is a single non-refundable fee of £9.99. We must accept this fee to cover the training costs, processing fees as well as ensure only serious applicants are accepted. This cannot be deducted from your first pay and no other payment is required thereafter.
If this role is still something you are interested in and you meet all the requirements then please click the following link to make a payment.
Payment is made via PayPal or Credit/Debit Card. Once payment is received, the training manual will be sent to you via email and you can then proceed immediately to begin your new role as a Home Based Data Entry Clerk.
I will be open for contact via email at any point should you require further help after receiving your training pack and/or any queries you need answering.
Kind Regards,
M&A Services

Ok I have 20 years experience and no degree. My background is in network administration and all the desktop support that goes along with it and application support etc. My last job burned me out so bad I dont ever want to be the emergency room of the IT dept again. I now have a nice high paying software support job but it aint gonna last forever. Has anyone found a low stress niche in IT? Does it mean a big company? I might be able to go for a degree or some certs. I am just not willing to go back to being the guy who has to save the world if it goes down and you stay at work until its fixed (sometimes for days) and get called in the middle of the night. I want a max of a 45-50 hr work week with no emergency aspect to it.
My dream job would be to teach theology or something meaningful but teaching IT doesnt sound too bad. As long as its teaching and not doing demos to help sell widgets.
I wouldnt mind working for the gov or non profit as a pension would be nice too. I am 40. Do I have to totally change careers?
The other bad thing. I cant take much of a pay cut. I am just under 70k now. In a lower cost area I could probably go down to 50k but my debt is unbearably high.
I think I will end up leaving my work in a pine box if I have to have job that is anything like the last three I have had before this one.

I hired an attorney to file an application for a mark, and without going into all the gory details, Victoria’s Secret objected to my mark as being too similar to theirs when I had it published for opposition.
I have filed marks with the USPTO before and never had a problem with a big company like Victoria’s Secret even paying attention. There are plenty of other marks with the word PINK in them that have been registered successfully. My thoughts are that because I had an attorney file the mark really drew the attention from a huge company because an attorney was doing the filing. If I had filed the mark it probably would have never been opposed.
Am I right or wrong in my thinking? These big corporations most likely review the marks that attorneys are filing, mostly because someone has the money to pay an attorney to do the work and would be more likely to have funds to market their mark afterwords.
