I am not atheist nor am i theist i am not affiliated with any religion whatsoever but it pisses me off when some christian comes and gives credit to god for any favor done for them by another person recently my
brother recovered from a car accident and all these people are saying “thank god he is well” god didn’t save him professionals in the health care industry working day and night without rest did and i know some are you are gonna answer with “god sent those people to him to save him” but wouldn’t that go against your ideal of free will isn’t god sending us to do his bidding without asking basically him controlling us like puppets?

Back in April I met a couple people on campus who were evangelizing to people and I was one of the people that they sat down with and started to talk to me about the gospel. I was a little skeptical at first because I did and still believe that there is a higher power, a god as you may call him, and that no matter the religion we are affiliated with, we can come together as a society when we need to and overcome and challenge that comes our way. I eventually became a christian because they gave me more insight about Jesus and god and how they can be apart of their lives. Ever since then I’ve been reading bible and learning about God and how if w you follow god’s word, you will ascend into the kingdom and gain eternal life. The only problem with that is one question? When will god answer my prayers. Although I’ve made a whole bunch of new friends since then, I’m still trapped in this state of loneliness and depression. I feel that God is not walking beside me, but pushing me away like I’m a twisted monster. I’m now questioning my faith. Is god just waiting to show himself to me in the future, or will I be turned away from him just like everyone else in my life. I thought that the bible would help me, give me insight, give me meaningful words to dwell upon, but nothing. I can’t even remember scriptures, I only remember lyrics from heavy metal songs such as “give your soul to me, for eternity” and “The Halo over our demise, following a god so blind.” I need a little more insight on this issue cause I truly don’t understand Gods ways, or if i ever wanted to.

I will be visiting a religiously-affiliated school today for a meeting and as is customary, will likely be asked to lead a quick group prayer before we begin. I’d like to thank my hosts, wishing us all great health, happiness, and guidance as we venture forth together but I’m unsure of how to begin the prayer…
I recall from previous experiences of this nature, the person leading the prayer saying one short phrase beforehand (I believe addressing God), the group repeating back something along the lines of, “…And to you as well…” and then the prayer getting under way.
My question is, what is that brief line the prayer leader says beforehand, and is that even necessary? I certainly don’t want to offend by beginning the prayer in the wrong fashion if there’s a specific line I’m to say beforehand.
Thoughts?
But I specifically remember group prayers of this nature beginning with a quick line by the prayer’s leader, I believe to the The Father, and then the group repeating back “..and with you..” before the leader of the prayer continued. Any recall what that brief introductory line is?

I ask this because arabic is linked to islam in every way. Arabic has always been part of islam.
eg arab-islamic empire. There is reasonable amount of proof that suggests that arabs who’s ancestors where christians were probably not affiliated with the islamic empire.
So if you are of christian arab descent are you really arab?..
