I’ve been seeing alot of forums lately dealing with this subject and as a non affiliated believer in God I am extremely confused. How can Christians say there is no proof for evolution (carbon dating of dinosaur bones, and rocks to see how old earth is) yet, there is no proof on how old the bible is….oh wait there is! CARBON DATING!!! You cannot say the bible is how ever so old by one standard, yet not let something else be true by the SAME standard. Then there is the whole big bang theory, did God not create the world in 7 days? So everything came together in 7days, how does this not correlate to the big bang theory, everything came together in 7 days. Then where besides the bible is there proof about souls, god himself, jesus…… I don’t understand the argument of ‘Oh well there’s no proof of that.’ when there’s no proof of god either -_-. I believe in both science and God, and science makes God so much more amazing. realizing all God put into this earth, how complicated it it, how atoms work and everything else makes God that much more stronger in my eyes. Not believing in evolution is only going to make your life harder, why not see it for what it is, Gods amazing creation? In my mind you CAN believe in God and science, please stop spreading this notion that you can’t do both around.

I have a question regarding the validity that Christians believe they can tell who is going to hell, and my biggest concern is every Christian who puts down gays are pretty much going to hell (according to their guidelines of sinners go to hell) for they are breaking the greatest commandment of all: Love thy neighbor as thyself. It is said in the bible that above all other commandments that Loving your neighbor (not an actual person who lives next to you, but everyone that surrounds you) like thyself is the most important one. So my question is this why do you believe you are going to heaven when you can’t treat others like you want to be treated? Yes, in the Bible it says that, homosexuality is a sin, but are you not breaking a commandment, and not only one of the “10 Commandments” but the greatest one of them all. You are breaking this rule because you not only kick them out of your church but you attack them in public with pickets and other ridiculous acts, i.e. “God hates fags”, Chick-fil-a not supporting gays due to their religious affiliates, etc etc. If you believe you are better than them, then I challenge you to tell me how you are better, for just like Jesus says “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone” I’m waiting for you to tell me why you believe you can cast out gays when you yourself are sinning everyday by hating them.

Different denominations and individual christians not affiliated to denominations claim if you ”prayerfully wait upon the Lord” he will guide you to the truth. They have, and he has guided them to different truths. Strange?

I am not atheist nor am i theist i am not affiliated with any religion whatsoever but it pisses me off when some christian comes and gives credit to god for any favor done for them by another person recently my
brother recovered from a car accident and all these people are saying “thank god he is well” god didn’t save him professionals in the health care industry working day and night without rest did and i know some are you are gonna answer with “god sent those people to him to save him” but wouldn’t that go against your ideal of free will isn’t god sending us to do his bidding without asking basically him controlling us like puppets?

Back in April I joined a campus organization which was affiliated with Christianity and met some amazing people who taught me about the Lord and Jesus Christ who I was skeptical in the past before because I thought Christians were just a bunch of wack jobs. Time went on and my understanding of the lord grew. I was thanking him for all of the amazing people I have met, but I was still in this funk that I have been dwelling in for the past 20 years. I see all this amazing things happen to other people while I’m still left out wondering when something good will happen to me. Sure new friends come along, but everyone finds love, everyone finds happiness, while I’m still in this depression where I’m dealing with anger and hate and how I’m viewed as the weird kid who sits alone and listens to heavy metal, which is considered just nonsense and mindless notice to most people I have met. I don’t know if God is just picking the moment when something good will happen, but he has a funny sense of putting bad stuff in my way. I had to buy a new laptop to replace the old one cause the screen went out for no reason, I had to pay for a wreck which I did not cause, just the same old tired-some crap that happens every now and then, but I am so sick and fed up with it. Maybe it’s impatience, maybe it’s just that I don’t understand the Lord better, but I can’t take all of the bad stuff that happens in this world to me, and to others who are viewed differently based on appearances and tastes, there’s no need for such mindless , nonsensical mongering of social status in this world.

I was having a discussion with a Christian affiliate, deploring him of his one-sided argument and ways, so I told him “Harry Potter died for your sins! Show some respect, muggle!” He thought this was way out of line, and I hardly see why. Time and time again people have told me that “Jesus died for your sins” why can’t I use the same response only in reference to Harry Potter. Both are true; Harry Potter did indeed sacrifice his life to protect wizards and muggles alike from Lord Voldemort, so why be offended?? I am not belittling your faith, we just happen to invest our faith in different venues, can’t we respect that?
