Affiliate Marketing Secrets

I aspire to be a stand up comic, i listen to alot of stand up comedy (i am listening to one of my favorite comedy channels on pandora right now) and i want to know what my chances are of making it and publishing a few albums. I can’t give you guys an example of course because most of comedy is in the delivery. However everyday i do about fifteen uninterupted minuites of standup on the bus every day (i am in high school so this is to an audience of my peirs i’m not just some jackass yelling humour at strangers on the grey hound) and almost all of it gets great responses and i am hoping to play an open mic night somewhere (sugestions would be great, my schools open mic nights are out of the question as my material is very inapropriate) but what do you think the chances are that i could grow up, move to new york, find my niche and be successful as a comedian.

i visited montreal this summer (july) and was watching a local channel in the hotel one night. they featured several stand up comedians, all from canada, in a show similar to comedy central presents, except, you know, canadian. i think it might have been affiliated with just for laughs but i can’t remember, and searching just for laughs hasn’t helped so far.
anyway, we saw one comedian we really enjoyed, found very funny, and the next day we found ourselves reciting his jokes. unfortunately none of us had the presence of mind to write his name down and it has since escaped my mind.
i’m going to try to describe him and one of the jokes he did that has stayed in my memory, but if no one recognizes him that way, does any one know how else i could find his name? he was very funny and i’d like to see more from him.
he was white, thin, small build, and wore glasses. he had dark hair. sorry if that is vague, it’s all i remember.
he did a long bit about 18 year old girls, and trends. i don’t remember it verbatim but he kept repeating “i’m so ******* 18 right now”.
that’s not a lot to go on at all and i’m really sorry, i just would really like to figure out who i was watching then.
honestly, i think his first name might have been brad, or mark. he rapped. please help.

To paraphrase Howard Stern, he’s just not that funny. All his movies are predictable derivatives of each other. The typical plot: Underdog, two-dimensional nice guy/family guy fights against two-dimensional cardboard cutout bad guy, scatological humor ensues, good guy wins, and usually wins girl. The only thing that changes between his movies are the movies’ titles and characters’ names. In almost all of his movies he is wealthy and manages to end up with a blonde that in real life would be totally unattainable. In fact, the uglier he gets as he ages, the younger the women get.
I mildly liked some of his mid-90’s stuff (Billy Madison) but he really isn’t that funny, and frankly if this is the best our (American) studios can make as far as comedy, it’s pretty embarrassing. There is very little really good comedy out there and Sandler just seems to monopolize this niche with his crap..
