Affiliate Marketing Secrets

Hey I’m Tarik, 18 and very confused at this point in my life.
As a kid I’ve always known what I wanted to be, I was good at drawing and loved doing it. So I wanted to be a cartoonist and eventually make cartoons that appear on TV. I had this ambition until I was about 12-13.
Then Golf Came into my life, I started hitting balls on the driving range and I was actually pretty good at it. My dad would take me to the driving range and get me lessons and at that point I knew I wanted to become a pro golfer. I loved golf, I watched it on TV, practiced as much as I could but then…prices went up. Lesson were extremely expensive and we weren’t rich and in addition the golf course I went to was miles and miles away. So I had to pack it in and as of now I’ve lost interest in it (still miss it though).
Business was another thing that amazed me, I’ve never liked the idea of working under someone and I’ve always wanted to run a successful business which puts a smile on my face. In which I am, I have a few small business which make decent money for what they are but I don’t enjoy running them because they’re not related to any niche that interest me.
You see my dad sort of told me to venture into these niches because of the money they bring. But to be honest, although I know I can make a lot of money with these businesses, it still doesn’t motivate me since just don’t enjoy doing it.
Right now I’m in college (in the UK this is basically high school not uni) and I’m studying a few subject but have no idea where ill go after that. I’m always doodling in class because I love creating characters and people over my shoulder usually say the drawings look good (but I know they’re no where near as good my friends drawings). I also create stories in my head when day dreaming and I love imagining the characters, its great fun but I wouldn’t know how to make them a reality. My main objective in life as of now is to travel the world, I’ve seen some of if and it really is amazing. England is way to cramped, I want to leave as soon as I can. But I want to be in control of my life by having a successful business to fund my world trip. But you see?
There’s this and there’s that and there’s this. I DON’T know what to do with myself! and I definitely don’t want to have a midlife crisis
I simply don’t want to tell my life story because there’s tons more information and this maybe a really boring read but I simply don’t know what I want at this moment! I want to travel but that’s a long term goal. What I want to do to get there is what’s really confusing me?
I know this is long but I really think I need some guidance here.

I’m not asking to make 50-100k a month as many of these affliliate marketers claim they make. I’ve tried squidoo.com, I’ve tried many of the article sites and note, I’ve made several squidoo lens and wrote many articles. I just can’t seem to get it….I’ve done back links, tried forums, posting on CL (yuck btw) and luck is not on my side. I’ve been at this for almost a year now and at most made 1,000 in a month from posting on CL. You know, my goal is to be able to make a good amount of money and get this house for my family. My 5yr old son told me the other day, “Daddy, when can we get a house with a backyard because I don’t like moving from apartment to apartment.” I used to make pretty decent money in the car business till I came down with a severe case of bipolar. None the less, it made it almost impossible for me to work. Anyway, I’m seeking some help here….I am very dedicated to affiliate marketing and try hard but I just need some mentoring. And please, if you really are interested in helping me then I thank you but if you are just going to leave a link to your website, you’re wasting your time.

Before i start, please give this question some thought to what it is i want (best answer will be rewarded)
I want some good business ideas for making money online with out relying on search engines and affiliates in the future!
I am thinking on a large scale and of course over many years and a lot of time and money spent to get this really big.
What i mean is:
Relying on search engines and affiliate programs at first to grow the business of course. But I don’t want to rely on any affiliate programs like AdSense for my income nor the search engines forever, i want to be able to forget about them and have a online business that stands on its own 2 feet.
Some might say search engines with PPC, they are good, but this is not what i want to start, the competition is at the top.
Having my own PPC ads is something worth having a look at, like Facebook, it is not a search engine, but they do have PPC ads and Facebook don’t need search engines for users or any affiliates for their income.
So any ideas? even if they take a long time to get established, I am not looking to make any quick money or any decent money for few years, I am in it for the long run.

I have a few blogs which get maybe 100 visitors a month. This isn’t generating much revenue from AdSense. Of course, it’s likely not getting high CPCs on the ads. I don’t want that to be my aim. I’m looking to find what monthly would be good enough traffic to make decent money off of even with low CPCs.
What kind of traffic would give me spending cash, like to see Broadway musicals or something? And what kind of traffic would be required to live comfortably off of it? I don’t need Beyonce numbers. Just something reasonable for a good niche site.

So I’ve been looking for a way to make money online for some time now. Literally searching google for ages. There is just so much stuff on the topic lol. Like are surveys good? Should I try the whole affiliate thing and promote a virtual product? To be honest I just want to find something where I can make decent money pretty fast.. So anyone know of anything like that? haha probably not but worth a shot lol! 😛
